Hello my fellow Hovel Homers! I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I keep promising that I’ll update more regularly, but honestly I think this is a promise I won’t be able to keep. I’m a pretty disorganized and carefree person (which is what my blog is all about–living freely) but alas in order to document daily I’d have to go against the principles I “teach” so–there ya go, I suppose.

Anyways, it’s Thanksgiving weekend still (Cyber Monday, to be precise), I have a few shots of Fireball Whiskey in me and have decided it is “now or never” for this M-Turk post.

I’ve been using M-Turk for a good few months now. currently I’m up to $146.26 earned in total. I would consider this site to be my highest earner in the shortest amount of time yet. I should also disclaim that M-Turk is not for the beginning GPT site user. If this is the first post from adventuresofalice.com that you have ever read, I might suggest trying my post on InstaGC, or SlicethePie first.

You can even make bonus money!

M-Turk is a website platform that is run through Amazon. Now, if that doesn’t scream “legitimacy” to you, I don’t know what does. The best part about M-Turk being connected to Amazon, is that when you transfer money out of your M-Turk account, you transfer it into Amazon Payments, which is similar to PayPal. The transfer is INSTANTANEOUS. As in, no sooner than you click the transfer “submit” button, will your newly earned finances be accessible. From this stand point you can either transfer that money into an amazon gift card IMMEDIATELY (which during this holiday season, is very nice.) or you can transfer the money straight into your bank account. (as I said, Amazon Payments is very similar to PayPal.) And while PayPal will take 3-5 days to transfer your money, Amazon Payments will only take about 2, maybe 3 days-maximum.

So some highlights from that last paragraph:

  • The site is run through Amazon.
  • Transfers are instantaneous.
  • From Amazon Payments to Bank Account only takes 2-3 days.
  • Can cash out into Amazon gift card immediately.

As I mentioned before though, M-Turk is not a website for the beginner GPT site user. There are a variety of reasons as to why I say this. For one, The layout is not simple nor user friendly. It’s very work like, and nothing is quite explained to you. This is definitely a site where you either read a lot of tutorials or your trial-and-error while on the job. To start with, this is what the home page of M-Turk looks like.

As you can see, M-Turk is somewhat similar to Crowd Flower, or any HIT (Human Intelligence Task) formatted site. You are judged on your approvals and rejections. Another to thing to know about M-Turk is that a task isn’t immediately approved. Many companies and individual people are using M-Turk to get responses to surveys or small tasks completed. An M-Turker has to wait until the person who posted the task either accepts or denies your response. This is important, just like when one uses Crowd Flower. The more acceptances you have, the higher your accuracy score is. The more rejections you have, the lower it is. Depending on your accuracy score, and the amount of tasks you’ve accurately completed, you’ll be allowed to sign up or not sign up for certain tasks.

For example, some tasks require that you have 100 accepted tasks and an accuracy rating of 97% in order to even attempt their listing. Others will want you to have 1000 accepted tasks and an accuracy rating of 99%. It’s a case by case scenario. Some tasks also want you to have earned certain “qualifications”.

click to make image larger.

Some qualifications are simply earned through consistently and accurately completing tasks. Most qualifications though, a user has to request themselves. Sometimes requesting a qualification is no harder than clicking a button saying you want that qualification. Other times, you will have a quiz or something similar e-mailed to you. Once you fill that quiz out, and send it back, the one in charge of that qualification will review your test answers, and if they are up to par will grant you a qualification rating. If they are not up to par, you will be denied.

When you see a task you're not qualified for, it will show up like so. You can click request qualification to attempt to access this sort of task in the near future.

When you see a task you’re not qualified for, it will show up like so. You can click request qualification to attempt to access this sort of task in the near future.

As you can see from this example listing, some tasks can offer a very pretty penny to complete them. I will say though, that unless you are an amazing transcriber(can add text to videos, or write out the text for subtitles in the professional transcribing manner) it is rare to complete a 60-100 dollar task. But I will also say, that there are a lot of high-paying tasks you will be qualified for: though their prices range closer to $1-$10/hit.

This above information is why another reason why I consider M-Turk to not be a beginner GPT site.

Since the site is similar to Crowd Flower, your accuracy is based on how many tasks you complete and your overall accuracy score due to those completions. You mess up your score even a little bit, and it will take you a good few days to get it back in order. The high-paying tasking can be tempting. But unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing and are EXTREMELY confident in your skill to complete the task successfully, I would advice much lower paying tasks. Such as the 0.01-0.10 cent tasks.

Why you ask? Simple.

Because these tasks are very very easy. And there is 100,000’s of them available. Successfully complete 100-500 of these and you will have nearly 100% accuracy, and 500 completed tasks. This will open up new tasks that are closer to $10-20 bucks a pop, and by the time they appear you’ll understand how M-Turk works on a much more personal level. Granted, that means you might not be earning a lot at the beginning, which is discouraging to newbies in the GPT world.

M-Turk is like a job with no training; you figure it out on your own, and fuck up a lot because of it, but once you get the hang of it all, much potential and opportunity is to be found.

Tasks on M-Turk can be very interesting as well. They aren’t always surveys or regular information sorting HITs. Sometimes you have to take a picture or a video. I once had a task where I had to speak the alphabet allowed while turning my head up down and sideways as my webcam recorded. Sometimes you’ll be asked to record the sound of your car horn. Or take a picture of a pharmacy in your area. Or speak words and sentences from a book aloud. The tasks can be very fun, and enjoyable, in comparison to some others available on different sites.

ALSO, another little thing, I forget to mention: YOU CAN CASH OUT BY THE 0.01¢!

So no threshold has to be met-which is wonderful! Though I should add, you can only cash out once every 24 hours, so make sure that’s all you want to take out that day or you’ll have to wait till tomorrow.

Just a click away from cash!

Just a click away from cash!

This post probably contains my quickest payment proof as of yet. While combing the interwebs for more amazing ways and sites to make easy/quick money, I came across this hidden gem. Qmee is so simple, it almost makes you question the authenticity behind the idea.

You simply download the extension to your web browser (Which is invisible outside of a small icon near your address bar)

See? Just a little Green "Q", indicating the app is running.

See? Just a little Green “Q”, indicating the app is running.

If you click the “Q” it will show you your current balance with the website.

Currently empty due to just cashing out, mind you! :P

Currently empty due to just cashing                   out, mind you! 😛

So basically the gist is this: Bing. You’ve heard of Bing.com correct? A website mothered by Google, that is also a search engine, where you earn credits for searching things via their generator. Well this is very, very similar yet so much better. Instead of having to use a new search engine with limited results, you can use your regular search sites including: Yahoo, Google, Amazon, Bing, or Ebay.

You search for things as you normally would, and depending on what you’re looking for Qmee might offer a side bar of similar options you may click. It will also mention the price you will be payed for clicking on certain things. I’ve read that some of the offers go up to $1.00, but so far I’ve seen offers ranking from .06 cents-.15 cents.

Simply click these links when they appear and receive the incentive listed next to the link.

I only found this site about an hour ago, and used it for all of 15 minutes, collecting .30 cents from clicking three ads that came up during some bullshit search queries. The best part about this site is how fast it pays out, and how much you need to make in order to cash out.

1) You can cash out by the penny; and even better you can do so via PayPal!

2) The transfer from the site to PayPal is near instantaneous!

All of this found out about, made, and cashed out within 20-25 minutes!

All of this found out about, made, and cashed out within 20-25 minutes!

Now, the site may end up not making too much over time, but some people have claimed to make a good chunk of money, near 6-10 dollars a week, just using their search engines as they usually would +clicking these links. I’m a supreme newbie to Qmee, but I’m looking forward to seeing what this baby can do. Try it out, see it works for you, let us know, and as always:

Happy Earnings!

If you’re over the age of 18 then you most likely know what jury duty is: long, boring and tedious hours in a meeting room with strangers to decide who is guilty and who is innocent. Most people dislike this task, as it’s not only mandatory but usually subtracts wages from those missing work, paying very little in compensation for their time.

But what if I told you about mock juries? Where research companies are hired by attorneys going to court, in order to practice their argument before going against a real jury in the actual court room. And what if I told you these mock juries aren’t days long, but only 4-6 hours long, and pay rather generously?

Unfortunately for this post, I don’t have any tried-and-true links to share, only the information on what and why this IC job is.

A few months back, I took a survey that asked for a phone number in order to possibly have a follow up survey for extra incentive (incentive being money of course!). Then about two weeks ago, I got a call back from a marketing agency (who’s name I’m legally unable to disclose), asking if I’d like to participate in a local mock jury that weekend. For 6 hours of my time, I would be given snacks, two breaks, a free lunch, and $125 check at the end of the day! Not bad at all, if I do say so myself.

Now, again, due to the legal sensitivity to this IC job, I can’t tell you what the case was about, or any details like that–but I can tell you it was a rather lovely experience. I met some very nice, and interesting people while there, was fed good food at a fancy hotel where the research group was taking place, and was promptly paid before stepping back out the door to my car!

I don’t have any links unfortunately (As Adventures of Alice will only post links for personally verified reward systems and IC jobs, and this offer was presented through a survey) but I figured at the very least I could post about the experience and allow others to know what a mock jury is and how it can be a minor financial blessing.

A quick google search will show you many sign-up opportunities exist for live groups, like the one I participated in, or for online groups. The online groups do appear to pay less, but it’s still anywhere from $20-80 bucks on average per mock jury. I have signed up for about 10 online platforms, but as it’s not research in need of an everyday experiment the jobs can be far and few in between. (Granted, I live in a VERY small town, so I’m assuming larger cities/states will have more opportunities possibly available.)

Either way, while the offer isn’t overflowing, it’s also rather unknown and thus easier to get when jobs in the area ARE available. Just give ‘google search’ a click above and you’ll be directed where you need to go. Good luck, and as always, Happy Earnings! 🙂

The New Age of Learning

Come tutor with us!

Hey everyone! So I just wanted to post and say that I received payment proof from Cambly on the 15th of this month, (very timely just like their website promotes)!

CAMBLY PAYMENT PROOF

Yay! (:

I’ve only used their site casually, but was still able to make almost $60! I’m very impressed with this company so far. Tonight, before writing my post, I actually had a shift on Cambly, and through tutoring was able to rack up 10 more dollars!

I’ll state again, that if you’re interested in this opportunity, the best way to guarantee you’ll be paid for the time is to sign up for shifts. Even if it’s a slow night and nobody calls, you’ll be able to bank $5 for the two hours you kept Cambly’s tutoring tab open. Easy as that! If you’re interested, simply click their company logo at the top of this post and you should be redirected to their application page. Good luck and happy earnings!

Cash Crate is one of the oldest tried and true GPT websites out there. I don’t normally post about opportunities that I haven’t received personal payment proof of, but considering how their system works and the plethora of proof available via a quick google search I figured CC could be an exception. (Of course, when proof is received, I will update with pictures/documentation)

EDIT: ** Payment Proof Arrived!

Yay!

Yay!

**So I will say that this check took forever to get; almost two months. Fortunately after receiving the first check a user is eligible to change to quicker methods such as Paypal. **

I had always heard about Cash Crate, but was skeptical on trying it myself due their payment system. One must meet a minimum of $20 in order to cash out, which is wired to your paypal or dwolla account or sent in the mail around the 20th of the following month. Such a system is a bit of a turn off for me, especially since part of the GPT/PTC appeal is quick and easy money.  But before you write off Cash Crate just yet, know that they have some of the highest paying offers I have ever seen. Surveys easily hitting $3-8 dollars a pop, and while these surveys are a tad more sensitive in terms of qualification-they are passable and I have gotten through more than a few $1+ surveys, easily meeting the $20 minimum within a week or so of casual use. (casual use meaning about an 1-2 hours every other day)

Part of the appeal with Cash Crash is despite their round about and meticulous payment method, due to their high-paying offers, one doesn’t have to spend as much time (time=potential money) making their daily goals. On InstaGC, or Swag Bucks it might take me 2-3x the amount of effort to earn what it does for me to earn on one or two surveys via Cash Crate. Granted, InstaGC has it’s merit for being instant, and SB for selling gift cards for less than credited value-but each GPT site has it’s high-lights and low-lights.

My personal favorite is ‘top surveys’-that’s where the big bucks seem to hide. Plain ol’ ‘surveys’ also has a few gems, and don’t forget to try their ‘offer’ section. ‘Videos’ seem to pay less than a penny to watch, but if your tedious and willing be my guest–that being said, CC also hosts ‘Cash Tasks’ which is a Crowd Flower like server for 1/2 pennies and the like; again, I wouldn’t recommend  the last two, but I know people who claims to power through such tasks making bank-so whatever works for ya works for ya.

If you’re interested in signing up, just click the picture above or below, and you’ll be linked to their sign up page! Happy Earnings!
